The Court of the Eurasian Economic Union held an international conference entitled "International Justice and the Enhancement of Integration Processes" in Minsk on October 18-19, 2018.

More than 150 participants took part in the conference. The President of the Court of the EAEU Zholymbet Baishev in his opening remarks welcomed the participants of the conference and presented the activities of the Court of the EAEU, its goals and objectives.

Welcoming addresses at the opening ceremony of the conference were presented by Judge of the Chamber on Civil and Administrative Cases of the Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia Edgar Sedrakyan, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Slizhevsky, Vice-President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus Yury Kobets, Chairman of Association of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mussabek Alimbekov, Member of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anar Zhailganova, Vice-President of the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic Ainash Tokbayeva, judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Natalia Pavlova, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC Emil Kaykiev, head of Human Rights Policy and Cooperation Department of the Council of Europe Mikhail Lobov.

The first day of the conference was devoted to the discussion of the role of international judicial bodies in the integration intensification. On the second day, participants discussed the improvement of the statutory framework of the Court of the EAEU, the interaction between international and national judicial bodies, the main trends in the development of the Eurasian Economic Union law, as well as its use as a tool for protecting business. Judges of the EAEU Court Konstantin Chaika and Galina Skripkina, judge of the European Court of Human Rights Dmitry Dedov, First Advocate General of the ECJ Maciej Shpunar, member of the Board - Minister for Trade of the EEC Veronika Nikishina, representatives of the highest judicial bodies of the Member States of the Union, of the Eurasian Economic Commission, scholars from leading EAEU and EU research institutions, and practicing lawyers made presentations during the conference sessions.

A collection of articles will be published following the conference.
